The ONA Coffee Intermediate Skills Practise Barista Course is a continuation on from our Foundation Barista course. You should have some basic skills on producing espresso based drinks as well as having the fundamental knowledge around how to grind and extract an espresso.
If you are not completely confident in any skills introduced in the Foundation course or simply want some time on a machine to practise what you have learned, this is the course for you.
Outline:
- How to efficiently control and set up an espresso grinder to run a full brew recipe.
- New variables will be introduced in espresso recipes and milk coffee preparation.
- Fundamental coffee ageing and degassing theory and how this links to the preparation of milk based drinks.
- 1 hour practise time with 2 bottles of milk, and 1/2 a kg of coffee and more can be purchased during the class.
All classes are limited to 2 participants to satisfy social distancing requirements & you will receive an electronic Certificate of Achievement after the session.
Additional Needs:
We will happily cater for vegans & milk-based allergies however the extra cost of these alternative milks will need to be covered by the student or alternatively you are welcome to bring your own milk substitute to practise with.
Please leave a comment when you book your course if you require almond or soy milk & feel welcome to bring your own preferred milk substitute.
International students - our courses are performed in English. We can make arrangements if you need to bring an interpreter with you. Please let us know how we can assist you.
When you Arrive:
Please try to arrive 5 minutes before the start time and take a seat in the cafe. Let a member of staff know you have arrived for training and the trainer will come out and greet you once they are ready to go.
ONA Coffee Trainers:
All ONA Coffee trainers are highly experienced in producing top quality coffee and are running courses designed Hugh Kelly, Australian Barista Champion 2016 and 2017.
- Further knowledge and practise needed to make espresso drinks.
- You will receive a Certificate of Achievement at the completion of the class.
- Intermediate Barista Courses are limited to four participants.
All SYDNEY based Barista Courses are held in our new Barista Training Facility at ONA Marrickville 140 Marrickville Road, Marrickville NSW 2204. Please arrive five minutes prior to your scheduled class time.
- If you wish to use alternative milks you are welcome to byo or even bring more milk to practise with above your allocation, extra milk is available for purchase in the course
Casual and with closed shoes
Those who have completed the foundation course and those with a basic knowledge and skill set to make coffee but need a few extra pointers to become more confident.
Please allow a minimum of 48 hours' prior to course commencement to transfer or cancel your course attendance, or you will forfeit your full course and booking fee. Thank you!!
